i forgot no one
ever owned you
so hold on to
giving your eyes away.
you still read him love poems
still holding to the hope that one day
he’ll listen to you how the faces of the moon
can unravel you.
how its unseen side is hidden in beauty.
and how the side that reflects the lost sun
will light your way back.
but this poem is not about that.
its about why you keep giving
something that you never had in the first place.
its such a great deal of loss because
i have the first class seat
watching you as you break again and again.
